The best word to sum up Jiraiya and Tsunade's relationship would be Camaraderie: They were members of the same team when they were younger and they still have each others backs today. They are also members of the Legendary Sannin *including Orochimaru* and have both been offered the Hokage title *Jiraiya twice and Tsunade once, Tsunade agrees to her offer and Jiraiya has declined both times*


In their Younger days, It seems that Tsunade loved to torture and tease Jiraiya *during the bell training he was tied up to a stump and she basically rubbed it in his face*, but as they grew older they're attitude towrds each other matured, sort of. Jiraiya was cought once peeping on Tsunade in the bath, which ended up with both his arms, some ribs, and other places on his body broken and battered XD





After Jiraiya declined his second offer of Hokage, he nominated his fellow teammate, Tsunade. After finally finding her *with Naruto in tote* she first declines, but after seeing Naruto fight and after fighting Orochimaru, she accepts the offer. Orochimaru promises Tsunade that if she healed his arms, He wouls be able to bring back her brother and the man she loved from the dead. After hearing about this, Jiraiya told her he would have to kill her if she helped Orochimaru. She of course declined, and the two fought him side by side *like comrades...*


There are pently of other sure little moments between the two of them *like Tsunade bribing Jiraiya with a mixed bath so they could go to a spa and the two playing cards in the cafe* but, no real solid evidence has been presented that the two are romantically involved. Tsunade thinks he's just a big perv and he doesn't date women his age: only younger *they are both in their 50's: Tsunade uses a juitsu to make herself look younger* so, if anything else, they're just friends for now ;) . We'll see what happens in Shippuden.


And now let's talk about recent events. Spoiler city for anyone not keeping up with Shippuden *I strongly suggest you do so: http://onemanga.com"* and everyone knows that have read it what I'm talking about; our poor Jiraiya-sama is no more T-T... which really ticks me off. Not because of poor Tsunade *who I'm sure is used to death by now*, but because he's such a strong and intelligent Shinobi *legendary sannin for gods sake, but, I guess Orochimaru proved that fact that you're not invincible with a label*. Jiraiya was such a loved character, and we also find out in those chapters that Minato named his son after a character in Jiraiya's novel: Naruto. I also believe he's Naruto's Godfather, which just adds to the depression of it all XO!


He sends Papa toad to Konoha, as he has a secret code on his back *no doubly the location of Pain and who he really is*. We see Tsunade in an unsettling mood, and I'm sure when the Sasuke Arc is over with, Kishimoto will touch on that. "A Student's Ninja way should be his master's too! Never give up, that was the choice I had to make! Naruto... You're the "destined child", I know it... the rest is up to you! "


"There... that ending was a little better. The frog at the bottom of the well... drifts off into the great ocean. Heheh... yup... pretty darn honorable. I guess... it's time to put down my pen. Oops... Right... I need a title for the next book... Let's see... Ah... Got it... "The Tale of Uzumaki Naruto".


***SIDENOTE*** There is a Japanese Folktale called Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari about a ninja named Jiraiya who is highly skilled in Toad magic, and can transform into giant toads. He falls in love and marries a woman named Tsunade, an Ninja highly skilled in Slug Magic *she can also transform into a slug* and his arch rival/foe is Orochimaru *a ninja in the dark arts who can use Snake magic, and can transform into a giant snake*.
